Benchtop pressure forming machine (think vacuum forming on steroids)-Core77

Since 2015, the London-based Mayku company has been manufacturing the Formbox, a desktop vacuum forming machine. Now they have released a new machine Multiplier that can perform pressure forming.

For those who are not familiar with pressure forming: Do you know how vacuum forming is performed by drawing a vacuum on the mold side? Pressure molding can do this, but at the same time, compressed air is added to the top to sandwich the material between the mold and the pressurized atmosphere inside the tool. Vacuum forming provides you with radii instead of corners and cannot closely track complex surface changes, while pressure forming provides you with a level of detail closer to injection molding-at a fraction of the cost.

The company wrote that the multiplier "can capture finer details and perfect sharp edges than human hair." And, they said, "the process of making a mold" (which is obviously the process they envision that most people use it) "only takes 1 minute." They also claim that no draft angle is required (although you may or may not try to fish out the part).

This is what the operating machine looks like:

Do you find the beauty of the physical UI familiar? Multiplier was designed in collaboration with Teenage Engineering.

Although there is no news about when the machine will start shipping, Mayku stated that they will start accepting pre-orders next month, and the early bird is priced at $2 (they say a 58% discount).

You just need to cut all the sheets into perfect circles without a round hole in the middle.
