Cooking at the speed of light, Brava oven reviews | Manual

We are fortunate to be able to view a large number of products in The Manual. In the kitchen area, we are not sure if we are more excited to review products than Brava. We had the opportunity to use Brava for about a month and conducted a lot of experiments, and the results left us very impressed.

If you are not familiar with Brava, it is a powerful cooking device that can be placed on your work surface, much like an electric oven, about the same size as a large-capacity air fryer. The main difference lies in the technology behind the device.

The brilliance behind Brava's innovation is that it uses the patented Pure Light technology to use the power of light to obtain energy. Using this Pure Light technology, you can cook food in record time. You can cook food 2 to 4 times faster than an oven, without heating elements, just a little lighter.

Brava's experts compared the cooking process with a discotheque with lighting arrangements. Depending on the programmed food setting or cooking method, the light pulses at different intensities and speeds. Six lights allow you to cook protein and vegetables on the same tray at the same time. Through regional cooking, all ingredients can be cooked perfectly.

The lights can be brightened and dimmed to provide pizza oven-level "heat" to specific areas. They also pulse to provide searing heat without overcooking the food. Pure Light technology also contributes to healthier cooking without the need for a lot of oil. The advantage of running out of cooking is that it does not require preheating. You can rise from 0-500 degrees in one second! When using some manual cooking modes, you will notice that Brava is able to "preheat". However, this is used to simulate specific cooking conditions (most particularly baking), so the cooking surface of the dough will not be impacted.

If you think of the food replicator in the classic Star Trek series, then you are not far away. Brava is currently equipped with 6,669 formulas, and more are regularly added by the Brava formula development team. The Brava app also connects you with other Brava owner communities, which offer hundreds of different custom cooking recipes, which you can download to your machine at the push of a button.

It is equipped with nine preset cooking functions suitable for general cooking, including Pro Cook. Experienced Brava chefs can program a plate of meals and cook different ingredients according to their preferences. You can even monitor your cooking with a built-in camera that is very difficult to stop watching. Finally, just like any new cooking machine today, you can conveniently control (and watch) all content through a smartphone app.

As you may have collected, Brava is a complex cooking tool. Although Brava's product design team did a great job of making the control panel very user-friendly, it was still hard to resist out of the box. This is why Brava provides each customer with a separate onboarding call to learn more about cooking functions, accessories and technology. This is an area where Brava transcends and transcends, and truly stands out in terms of creating a community between the brand and its customers.

After our induction meeting, we are ready to cook-we are in the mood for breakfast. The bacon test is a test we are eager to conduct to see if the Brava can replicate the same results as a traditional oven (but faster).

So, we searched for bacon in the control panel, and the recipe popped up. You can choose between standard slicing, bit or weaving. After making your choice, it will take you to the recipe guide, which you can access at any time. You can choose the number of slices/zones for cooking. Then you can choose chewy or crispy bacon, and then you can choose to customize your dishes by adjusting the cooking time.

This is the first thing we do. We are conservative and reduce time. We put the bacon in and it's ready in 7 minutes. It was not as crisp as we liked (we should believe the initial time), so we touched it for another two minutes, and the result was perfect. Each cooking function has a "modification" option that can increase the cooking time by 30 seconds.

Therefore, we made perfectly crispy bacon in about 9 minutes without preheating. Brava-1 Oven-0

Next on the breakfast list is toast. Toast is another simple food. Kitchen gadgets often try to use ordinary simple toasters. We chose the toast function and chose the lighter level 2 toast. In less than 3 minutes, we had some great toasts. We would say that Brava is on par with traditional toasters in terms of time and quality. Unlike some kitchen gadgets that replace the toaster oven (such as an air fryer), Brava can provide delicious toast on both sides of the bread without turning it over. It's nice to know that Brava can take over the countertop space of our old oven without any regrets.

The last breakfast item on the menu is poached eggs. This is one of the items we saw in the advertisement and was happy to try it. After we found the poached eggs on the menu, the guide instructed us to add three tablespoons of water to the Brava egg dish, and then add our eggs. We put the tray in Brava, and after 5 minutes, the perfect poached egg came out. There is no doubt that it is faster, easier, and less messy than stealing eggs in the old-fashioned way.

The next meal we choose to prepare is another meal we saw on the Brava website. This recipe is our first recipe using a temperature probe. The direction is simple. We chopped up the vegetables and put them evenly in the pot. After that, we mashed the 4 pounds of chicken, seasoned it, and spread it on top of the vegetables. We insert the probe into the thickest part of the breast, place the probe string appropriately (explained in the induction note), and then press play.

In general, the chicken and vegetables came out very well. The skin is crispy (it would be crispier if we took the time to marinate the chicken), the vegetables were not overcooked, and the flavor was added due to the chicken juice. The cooking time for this recipe is about 80 minutes, which is comparable to a standard oven. However, with the oven, if the vegetables are not overcooked, we cannot do everything at once. For this reason, Brava got it.

The next meal we decided to eat at Brava was to test its precision cooking. We bought some beautiful picanha steaks from the butcher shop counter in Marrow Detroit. We chose asparagus to accompany these delicious cuts and tried Brava's regional cooking.

We did not find any recipes for picanha steak and asparagus, but there was a recipe for NY Strip and asparagus, so we chose that one. The instructions are simple; we sprayed a little olive oil on the steak and asparagus, and added salt and pepper. We injected the probe into a steak. About ten minutes later, we got a perfect medium rare steak with a strong burning sensation, which is impossible to get by just popping a steak in the oven. The asparagus is very tender but not overcooked.

After trying Brava, we are confident enough to try the Brava Pro cooking function. The professional cooking function allows you to customize cooking according to regional settings. For each area, you can set the light intensity level, light orientation (top, bottom, or both) and searing preference. Depending on the total cooking time you choose, the lighting settings for each zone alternate every 12 seconds.

We decided to cook salmon fillets (medium light on the top), some broccoli florets (medium light on the top and bottom), and fingerling potatoes (high light on the top and bottom). We left it for 20 minutes and then used a glass tray, hoping that the potatoes would cook faster than the metal tray.

In general, the results were similar to expectations. The broccoli and salmon were cooked very well, and the broccoli was nicely charred. Potatoes do need a little more time, so we removed the salmon and broccoli and fried them in the air at 450 degrees for another 8 minutes. The result was good.

As you probably know, if you are going to test your skills (or more appropriately, Brava's skills) in the Pro Cook settings, you should expect that this will most likely involve some trial and error until you perfect the cooking time and all the ingredients Style. However, consulting the Brava community through apps, Facebook and YouTube can provide many excellent culinary insights and suggestions to make the right decision in the first place.

Finally, we were impressed with the cooking performance of Brava and the user-friendliness of the equipment considering the complexity of the cooking technology. Its huge recipe database and ease of use can help novice home chefs to upgrade their cooking games effortlessly. It also allows experienced chefs to experiment and make their own creations, and at the same time as a complementary tool in the kitchen, speeding up the cooking time when using other appliances.

This is an expensive gadget, which is inevitable. However, we believe that you will find yourself using it much more than most others, thanks to its thoughtful, user-centric design. In addition, the Brava cooking camera will let you marvel at Pure Light technology, which adds more fun to the overall cooking experience. If you have any questions or problems with the equipment, the customer service team and the community will quickly provide help and solve any problems you may encounter. To make a long story short, we believe this investment is worthwhile.

Some considerations are that this is a large and heavy device, so the plan is to make some countertop space for it, and then leave it there. Smaller kitchens may be difficult to adapt to this accommodation environment. In addition, Brava's accessories are not cheap. The Chef's Choice package includes all cooking accessories, but is $400 more than the starter package. Many of the recipes in Brava require things like eggs, chefs, and square pans, which are not included in the starter set. Therefore, if you want to use accessories easily, please know that your recipe choices will be limited and you will have to invest more money. Brava is compatible with other cookware, but Brava accessories are strongly recommended.

Finally, if you want kitchen technology and need a gadget with many other functions, such as an air fryer, oven, microwave, etc., then Brava’s up-front investment is worth it. We can prove that the Pure Light technology used by Brava is not new, and we predict that other brands will try to catch up with it in the next few years.
